Three Point Lighting is the standard lighting technique used in
film. The goal of Three Point Lighting is to create the illusion of a
three dimensional subject, in a two dimensional image. Using this setup
creates the dimention in a number of ways depending on how it is set up.
The Three Points of light:
- The Key Light – The main light used on the subject.
- The Fill Light – Fills in the shadows created by the key light, and prevents high contrast.
- The Back Light – Used to separate the subject from the background.
